TDK Corporation announces the introduction of the TDK-Lambda GENESYS™ AC (GAC) and GENESYS™ AC PRO (GAC-PRO) series of programmable AC power sources in 2 kVA and 3 kVA power ratings. These products significantly expand the test and measurement capabilities for the current GENESYS™ series of programmable DC power supplies (750 W to 90 kW). With a chassis height of only 1U, the GAC and GAC-PRO offer the highest power density in a fully equipped programmable AC power source.
Advanced features of the AC PRO
The GENESYS™ AC PRO models offer enhanced DC functionality and can operate in AC, DC or combined AC/DC mode. In addition to standard power and current in DC mode, these models include advanced functionalities such as waveform generation and harmonic analysis. The AC PRO series further includes real-time analogue control functionality, essential for more complex tests such as hardware-in-the-loop (HIL). Want to know more about the new power supply? Applications for the AC PRO series include automated test equipment, avionics, aircraft energy, defence (RTCA, Boeing, Airbus standards), automotive, e-mobility and power source testing.
Parallel systems and controls
TDK-Lambda's advanced parallel system offers characteristics comparable to those of a single power supply. Users can combine 2kVA and 3kVA units for additional power or multiple phase outputs. The front panel controls are operated via a capacitive touch screen, which is more robust than traditional mechanical switches. The interface supports multiple languages, including Chinese, English, French, German, Japanese, Korean and Spanish.
Standard connections and user-friendly software
LAN, USB, RS232, RS485 and analogue programming/monitoring are available as standard, with optional IEEE/GPIB. The external GUI software that is included gives users full control over sequence programming and provides the ability to use pre-programmed test standards for IEC, aerospace and marine testing. This improves consistency and reduces testing time and labour costs compared to traditional manual set-ups.
Technical specifications and warranty
The dimensions of the GAC02 and GAC03 are 423mm wide, 544.5mm deep and 43.6mm high, weighing less than 8kg. Like other models in the GENESYS™ series, they come with a five-year warranty and meet safety standards such as IEC/EN/UL 61010-1. They carry CE and UKCA markings according to the Low Voltage, EMC and RoHS Directives, and comply with IEC/EN 61204-3 for EMI (Class A) and EMC immunity.
Future expansions
